AH Cross Selling
No, it's nothing like cross-dressing, this isn't one of those blogs.
I'm talking about selling in the cross-faction auction houses in Booty Bay, Everlook and Gadgetzan. There are a number of items that are of limited use to Horde characters but very useful to those in the Alliance, and vice-versa. Try and sell them in your local AH and you will get only a pittance – take them to the cross-faction AH and you may just get a pile of gold.
Let me give you an example. There are a few items which are used by mostly by only one faction. For the Alliance, they start with “Lightforge…”, for example Lightforge Belt. Those for the Horde end with “…of Elements”, for example Gauntlets of Elements. These items drop in high level instances on both the Horde and Alliance sides. When, for example, a Cord of Elements drops for an Alliance player they may put it in the Alliance AH for 4 gold or so. In the Horde AH, these may be selling for 40 gold. Unless you haven’t been paying attention you will see a great opportunity to buy from the Alliance AH (if you are an Alliance character obviously) and put the item in the cross-faction AH for 20 gold, making a profit of 16 gold.
If you have a Horde character, just do the same with the “Lightforge…” items.
If you are on a PvE server, it’s easy just to park a low-level alt in all three AHs to check prices.
Other items to consider are Deviate Fish on PvP servers and cross-faction pets such as White Kitten
