Warcraft Level 60-70 Guides

Days after the release of Burning Crusade, leveling guides for 60 to 70 have become available.

Since we can now level to 70 and most of us want to quickly, I thought I would check out the guides and guide updates for level 60-70. Most of the commercial guides have been updated since the authors were all invited into beta testing.

Joana's Horde Guide has a level 60 to 70 Burning Crusade update ready for download. Joana was the record holder for the fastest to level 60 (under 5 days played) on a new server and I expect a similar record for level 70.

Bill Kopp also has an Alliance level 60 to 70 Burning Crusade Guide:

"So you get all the class guides, any updated tweaks to the guide, and the 60-70 Burning Crusade Guides. "

WoW Gold Secrets has an update for making gold in BC:

"I was fortunate enough to have received a beta invite to the Burning Crusade. So what have I been doing since being invited? Researching gold-making strategies of course! "

It's an amazing new expansion, so if you haven't, go get it right now!

World of Warcraft Gold Secrets

There's a WoW guide on sale called Cash Creating Guide which promises to lay bare World of Warcraft gold secrets. The author makes some pretty big claims:

"The Most Hated Player in World of Warcraft Blows the Lid Off the Corrupt Gold-Farming Industry and Reveals the Secret Tactics You Can Use to Legally Make up to 60 Gold an Hour or More Without Using Hacks and Without Getting Banned...So You Never Have to Buy Gold Again!"

"In this 81 page report I lay out all the gold creating secrets I've discovered in my almost 2 years of playing World of Warcraft. I hold absolutely nothing back! These are the same secret tactics that have made me thousands of gold with ease and make me the number one target of the gold sellers hatred for releasing them."

Big claims but does the guide live up to its promises?

I figured it was worth the money to check it out since the author is offering a refund if it isn't up to spec. The first thing that you notice is that the guide is relatively short at 81 pages due to the absence of any fluff. He gets right down to a number of different methods of making WoW gold straight off the bat.

One of the other guides I bought, which shall remain nameless, was almost nothing but fluff. It went into great detail about how to sell in the AH and how green items were worth more then grey. Duh. Anyway, I digress. The Cash Creating Guide is different. It's all substance and no fluff. It isn't for absolute beginners certainly but if you have an idea how to sell in the AH and know your way around the zones you may be ready for this guide.

I pride myself on knowing most ways to make WoW gold but I have to say there were some great ideas in there that I hadn't discovered. I'm not going to share them in this blog since the author has obviously put a lot of work into the guide and it wouldn't be fair to steal his ideas. There a whole mix of techniques for almost any level. It includes a bit of everything including trading, timing, crafting, hunting, gathering etc.

It's a bit difficult to say how good the guide is without revealing all his secrets but it works and works well. I've tried only a few techniques in the guide, and there are many, and I've already made several hundred gold almost effortlessly.

The drawback is that it does cost real money, in this case $37. Worth it? I think so. If you are short of gold you can either make it of buy it. Buying a decent amount of gold will cost you more than the price of the guide and when you've spent it, it's gone. With this guide you can make more gold whenever you need it.

WoW Gold Farming

Some more good WoW gold farming spots to consider for higher levels:

Lake of Kel’Theril in Winterspring has nicely spread out undead which drop cash, Runecloth and a higher than normal quantity of green items. This can be a popular farming area so save it for quiet times. Mobs are mid-50's.

Still in Winterspring, head way down south to Darkwhisper Gorge. Hunt for Hederine Slayer and Hederine Initiate. These are higher level 59 and 60 but drop The Eye of Shadow about 1 in 50 times. Not a high drop rate but it can sell easily for 300 gold. these two mobs also drop a lot of Runecloth, Felcloth and green items. Even the grey items sell for up to 1 gold.

For a change of scenery, head to Western Plaguelands and hunt for the Scarlet Spellbinder in the tower in the north near Hearthglen. They drop Recipe: Enchant Weapon – Crusader. The drop rate for this is pretty low but it sells for 300 gold on most servers. These mobs also drop lots of Runecloth.

If you feel like a challenge, go down into Un'Goro crater and hunt Stone Guardians. They drop Guardian Stone about 20% of the time which sells for around 10 gold. These mobs are level 60 – 61 but are soloable with some classes if you know what you are doing.

If you have skinning as a profession you can find Devilsaur mobs almost anywhere in the Un'Goro crater. These don't drop much of interest but skin to Devilsaur Leather which sells for 2g a piece.

World of Warcraft 2.0 Auctioneer

Although Auctioneer still doesn't have an official release for W0W 2.0, they do now have a beta version. I've downloaded this and it seems pretty stable. Most of the bugs from the earlier version have been fixed and it's usable even for the casual user.

Download it from Auctioneer Complete

Burning Crusade Guides

With the release of Burning Crusade just around the corner, I've been checking to see which of the WoW guides are being updated for the new release.

Joana's Guide author was a beta tester and should have a Burning Crusade Guide out shortly after release:

"As you know I won the leveling contest, and the reward is that I will be able to beta test the Burning Crusade. I will be one of the first few that will be able to play it. And because of this I will have a guide out shortly after the Burning Crusade gets released in stores! You will get my upcoming 1-70 guide"

Bill Kopp also has a level 60 to 70 Burning Crusade Guide:

"So you get all the class guides, any updated tweaks to the guide, and the 60-70 Burning Crusade Guides. "

WoW Gold Secrets also has an update in the works:

"I was fortunate enough to have received a beta invite to the Burning Crusade. So what have I been doing since being invited? Researching gold-making strategies of course! "

All I need now is to get my hands on a copy of the release...

WoW Rare Recipe Vendors

I've mentioned previously how easy it is to make gold by buying up rare or limited availability recipes from vendors are reselling these in the AH for a big profit.

Here's a few more vendors and recipes to consider:

Recipe:Shadow Oil from Bliztik in Duskwood. He's on the second floor of the house next to Jitters on raven Hill. The recipe can be purchased from Bliztik for 15 silver and resold for 1.5 to 2 gold in the AH.

Recipe Fire Protection Potion from either Jeeda in Stonetalon Mountains or Nandar Branson in Hillsbrad Foothills. Buy for 15 silver, sell for 2.5 to 3 gold.

Pattern: Nightscape Shoulders. From Jangdor or Swiftstrider in Feralas or Nioma in The Hinterlands. Costs 40 silver, sells for 2.5 to 3 gold.

Pattern: Living Shoulders from Pratt McGrubben in Feathermoon Stronghold or Jangdor Swiftstrider in Feralas. Buy for 1.4 gold, sell for 3 gold.

Recipe: Frost Oil from Bro'Kin in Alterac. You need to be level 35+ to get near him, but the recipe sells for 5 gold plus. He's on the wall at the north end of the ogre village in the ruins.

I'll add a few more WoW rare recipe vendors over the next couple of days as soon as I've had time to check them.
